The Wisteria 'Aunt Dee' produces showy clusters of light purple flowers in the summer. This deciduous, twining, woody vine is noted for long life and exceptional beauty. Aunt Dee needs support, such as a trellis, arbor or fence to grow and climb on. Aunt Dee blooms when very young. It prefer deep, moist, well drained soil in full sun. Prune after flowering. Heads will turn when this plant is in full bloom. All parts of plant are poisonous if ingested.
Chains of sweetly fragrant blue flowers appear in flushes from June to September. Grow in sun for most flowers. Perfect for training over an arbor or pergola, flowers will hang below. Very fast growing. This vine should be grown where the entire plant from the base to the top can receive full sun. Pruning should be limited to pruning back the tips that are overgrowing the pergola after flowering. This Wisteria has been said to be hardy even after 40 below zero temperatures and has been said to bloom three times a year.
