Description
A beautiful native tree with lustrous heavy textured leaves which are fuzzy underneath. Reddish-brown to gray bark sheds in ragged papery flakes when youg aging to thick dark gray-brown. Low branches create a broadly conical to rounded crown. Shallow round-lobed dark leaves become golden with orange and red in fall. Well adapted to wet poorly drained soils but is quite drought resistant too.
