Description
A deciduous conifer with a columnar habit when young becoming broadly pyramidal at maturity. Often high-branched revealing red-brown fissured bark. Leaves are bright yellow/green in spring darkening to sage green during the summer and then a burnt orange in the fall. This tree is known to leaf out very late in the spring but it’s soft feather-like needles are worth the wait. This tree is one of the only trees that can withstand long periods of drought but can also be planted in very wet soils.
